A Newport Center woman is facing multiple charges after a concerned citizen reported a possibly impaired driver on June 17.

According to the Orleans County Sheriff's Department, Deputy Battista responded to a 911 call and spotted a vehicle traveling down the middle of Lake Road in Newport Center. The vehicle matched the description provided by the caller.

During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as Natalie Bekkouche, 40, of Newport Center. Deputy Battista observed several signs of impairment, and the subsequent investigation revealed that Bekkouche violated two separate conditions of release.

Bekkouche was arrested and transported to the sheriff's department for processing. Her vehicle was towed and its registration plates were seized.

She is charged with DUI refusal (second offense), operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license, and two counts of violation of conditions of release. All charges are misdemeanors.

Bekkouche is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Orleans Criminal Division, on July 7 at 8:30 a.m.
