A Charlestown, New Hampshire, man was cited for excessive speed after Vermont State Police said he was clocked at 96 miles per hour on Interstate 91 in Barnet.

Trooper LeBlanc stopped the vehicle near mile marker 125.0 on July 4, 2026, at about 9:07 a.m. The posted speed limit in the area is 65 mph.

The operator was identified as Christopher Lacasse, 30. He was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Caledonia Criminal Division, on September 14, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
