The Lyndonville Police Department arrested two people Tuesday evening after an investigation into high-volume drug sales at a home in Barnet.

Ashley Williams, 31, and Osvaldo Rodriguez, 43, of Meriden, Connecticut, were taken into custody and held on bail, according to police reports.

Officers seized more than four ounces of suspected crack cocaine, over $47,000 in cash, and more than 70 milligrams of suspected fentanyl. The DEA has noted that as little as two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal.

Police said the suspects had been using short-term rentals in the Lyndon area to distribute drugs. The entire Lyndonville Police Department responded to the scene, assisted by the Essex and Caledonia Sheriff's Department, Vermont State Police, and CALEX EMS.

Lyndonville Police Chief Jack Harris said the department would not tolerate drug trafficking. "This department will continue to aggressively investigate drug sales and hold violators accountable who sell in or supply our community members," he said.
