Medical Emergency at 108 3rd Street in Newport

At approximately 1:11 AM, Newport Ambulance was dispatched to 108 3rd Street, on the Pleasant Street side, for a report of a male subject with snoring respirations lying on the doorstep. Police were also en route. By 1:15 AM, responders arrived on scene and noted the patient was starting to move but was not yet responding. At 1:19 AM, units reported clearing the scene at the corner of Pleasant and Fair Street, with the subject turned over to police. A refusal of transport was noted. The nature of the medical emergency remains under investigation.
