Man arrested on stalking charge in Akron

AKRON, PA, A 67-year-old man was arrested after police said he yelled through the walls of his home to harass and contact neighbors.

West Earl Township Police responded to a disturbance call on the 200 block of Miller Road at 4:45 a.m. on May 31. Officers identified Allen L. Weachter as the person allegedly yelling through the walls. Police said Weachter had a prior history of harassment and stalking involving the same neighbors.

When officers arrived, Weachter refused to cooperate. Police obtained a warrant through District Judge Torrey Landis, charging Weachter with felony stalking and misdemeanor harassment. Upon entering the premises, officers reported finding Weachter holding a knife. He was taken into custody without incident.

Weachter was arraigned on May 31 before Judge Landis, and bail was set at $15,000. He faces charges of stalking, harassment with a course of conduct with no legitimate purpose, and harassment.
