More than 150 voters gathered at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro for a special town meeting and rejected two proposals to change the town's voting process.

The first article, which would have adopted Australian ballot voting for all budget articles traditionally decided by floor vote at Town Meeting, failed 101-77. The second article, seeking to have all public questions decided by Australian ballot, also failed, 85-59.

Voting on both articles was conducted by hand count.
