The Greensboro Selectboard is facing another accusation of violating Vermont's Open Meeting Law, this time over an alleged failure to post a meeting notice. The complaint, raised by residents during the board's June 10 meeting, centers on whether the public was given adequate notice of the session.
Gary Circosta voiced concerns about the potential violation during the meeting, according to a report by the Newport Daily Express. The selectboard has not yet issued a formal response to the allegation.
The state Open Meeting Law requires public bodies to post meeting notices at least 48 hours in advance, unless there is an emergency. It is the second time in recent months that the Greensboro Selectboard has been accused of running afoul of the law.
NEK will be looking into whether the board has a pattern of notice-related complaints and what steps it has taken to ensure compliance.
