Four arrested in Newport drug bust, police say

Four people face drug charges after Newport police executed a search warrant at a home Tuesday morning, the culmination of a monthslong investigation into suspected drug activity.

Matthew Prue, 46, Jennifer Sanville, 40, Stanley Crowe, 52, and Trina Stetson, 47, all of Newport, were taken into custody. Officers reported seizing more than 57 grams of cocaine cut with fentanyl and over $4,500 in cash.

According to police, Prue, Sanville, and Crowe face additional charges from separate investigations. Sanville was ordered held without bail. Prue and Crowe are being held on $25,000 bail each. Stetson was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

All four were scheduled for arraignment Wednesday afternoon at the Orleans County courthouse. Specific charges have not been released.
