At 4:29 AM on Thursday, Newport Ambulance was dispatched to Bel Air Nursing Home at 35 Bel Air Drive in Newport for a 78-year-old female in cardiac arrest. Crews were advised the patient was in A-Wing, Room 4B. A unit responded at 4:33 AM and arrived on scene at 4:37 AM. Additional units, including Newport Police and Newport Ambulance units 9 and 11, arrived on scene at 4:42 AM. At approximately 6:42 AM, responding units cleared the scene. Further details on the patient's condition are pending.
