Catamount Arts is gathering recipes and artwork from Northeast Kingdom residents for a community cookbook focused on pandemic cooking.
The Kingdom COVID Cookbook invites home cooks and local chefs to submit recipes they have perfected during quarantine, along with a brief story about the dish. Organizers also welcome food-related artwork such as drawings, paintings, collages, and poetry.
“There are a lot of people cooking at home who probably don’t think of themselves as artists,” said Jody Fried of Catamount Arts, “and this project will reinforce that of course cooking and baking are art.”
Submissions may be showcased online and in a printed book to be sold later this year. The project also plans short online videos of local foodies cooking at home.
Recipes and art are accepted through March 13 via email to [email protected]. Full guidelines are at www.catamountarts.org.
