At approximately 9:24 AM, Newport Ambulance and police were dispatched to 447 Pleasant Street, apartment 1 in Newport for an assault. According to initial reports, a 38-year-old female was assaulted and sustained facial injuries with bleeding. Officers are on scene. Additional details are pending.
