At approximately 2:14 PM, emergency responders were dispatched to Route 105 in Charleston for a report of a female who fell into the Clyde River. Initial reports indicated the woman was face down in the water and floating towards Fontaine Road. Charleston Fire Department and Morgan Rescue were among the first units on scene. By 2:19 PM, Newport Police advised that the woman had been seen by a resident at 1129 Route 105 and appeared conscious but struggling in the water. At 2:20 PM, dispatchers reported the woman was still drifting down the river but struggling. At 2:22 PM, firefighters inquired about potential access points downstream. By 2:24 PM, responders had staged at a residence on Fontaine Road and were looking for an exit point. A state trooper on scene maintained visual contact with the woman. At 2:26 PM, a Newport Police officer arrived on scene. Additional units reported on scene at 2:28 PM and 2:30 PM. Multiple agencies, including Newport Ambulance and Newport Fire, are assisting. At 2:59 PM, multiple emergency units were reported arriving at North Country Hospital, though their specific role in the incident remained unconfirmed. At 3:23 PM, emergency responders were reported clearing from North Country Hospital, indicating the patient had been transported. Units were out of service for restocking. By 3:24 PM, dispatchers confirmed the call was clear.
