PLAINFIELD, The Vermont Agency of Transportation will hold a virtual information session on the Plainfield U.S. Route 2 Slope Remediation Project on Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m. Details including the Zoom webinar link are available at plainfieldvt.gov.

The ongoing project, located on U.S. Route 2 just west of its intersection with Vermont Route 214, involves slope stabilization between the highway and the Winooski River. Work continues through this week, July 13, 17, between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Crews will conduct clearing and excavation, with single-lane closures and alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers.

The project is expected to continue through November before a winter shutdown, with completion projected for summer 2027. The state’s public information consultant is Elaine Ezerins; she can be reached at (603) 782-2460 or by email at [email protected].
