The Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on VT Route 101 in Troy around 7:27 a.m. on July 7. Troopers identified Tucker Wilson, 24, of Newport City, as the operator of a 2004 GMC Sierra, and Nanette Meunier-Willey, 62, of Derby, as the operator of a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
Both vehicles were traveling northbound when Meunier-Willey slowed to turn left into a private driveway. Wilson failed to slow and yield, and swerved into the southbound lane in an attempt to avoid a collision. The front passenger side of Wilson's truck struck the driver's side of Meunier-Willey's SUV.
Meunier-Willey reported minor injuries but declined transport from the scene. Both vehicles were drivable. Wilson was issued a citation for following too closely, in violation of Title 23 V.S.A. 1039. Weather was clear and roads were dry at the time.
