Vermont State Police arrested two people on suspicion of DUI following a single-vehicle crash early June 28. Troopers responded to the intersection of East Hill Road and Searles Road at 1:42 a.m. after a report of a vehicle off the roadway.

At the scene, police found one vehicle off the road operated by Griffin Marquis, 20, of Derby, and another vehicle on the road operated by Cally Sanville, 19, of Derby. Both operators showed signs of impairment and were taken into custody, according to state police.

Marquis and Sanville were transported to the Derby Barracks for processing and later released on citations to appear in court. No injuries were reported.

NEK will be looking into whether additional charges or factors such as speed or road conditions contributed to the crash.
