Summer events are returning to Island Pond this year after most were sidelined in 2020 due to the pandemic. The Island Pond Chamber of Commerce has been working to bring back as many events as possible following a surge in vaccinations and the lifting of restrictions.
The season kicks off June 11-13 with the Island Pond Town Wide Yard Sale, one of the few events that took place last year. Details and signups are available at VisitIslandPond.com.
Independence Day weekend festivities begin Friday, July 2, with a concert by Evansville Transit Authority at Lakeside Park Pavilion Stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 3, features an 11 a.m. parade in downtown Island Pond, with lineup starting at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church. The American Legion will host a barbecue luncheon after the parade. The Great Island Pond Scavenger Hunt, organized with the Island Pond Historical Society Museum, will send participants searching for prizes. Kat's Rock n Kountry performs at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks over the lake at 9:30 p.m. The Hearth & Home Country Store will hold its first wine tasting since the pandemic on Sunday, July 4, at noon.
The Vermont Symphony Orchestra will return to the Lakeside Park Pavilion Stage on Saturday, July 17, at 3 p.m. with a brass quintet as part of its Gazebos and Bandstands Tour.
