A Littleton High School staff member has been placed on paid administrative leave after a group of students vandalized the school in what was intended as a senior prank, according to the Littleton School Board.

Teachers arriving the morning after the incident found toilet paper strewn across classrooms, soap and baby oil poured on floors, and a chair placed on the roof. Several teachers reported broken computer screens and damaged desks.

At a school board meeting, staff described the scene as far beyond a harmless prank. “You use a teacher’s salt shaker and spread it all over the desk and computer, trashed rooms, hallways, and broke screens to get access to the room, and then went on to the roof of the school. This is not a prank. This is vandalism and super dangerous,” one math teacher said.

Teachers also raised security concerns after learning that students had obtained school keys and a security code, allowing them to enter the building after hours and let in others. An English teacher said students were “horsing around near the edge” of the roof in the dark.

The Littleton police chief confirmed no police report was filed for the incident. The School Board said it has instructed administrators to take immediate steps to address security and that those measures are now in place.

In a statement, the board said the superintendent informed the high school community that the involved students have “taken responsibility for their actions, apologized to those impacted, and agreed to perform community service.” Administrators continue to investigate and may impose further discipline.
