The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Grafton County, New Hampshire, on Saturday evening. The warning was in effect until 10 p.m. EDT.

At 9:38 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Tamworth, about 9 miles north of Ossipee, moving east at 45 mph. Police said the storm could bring 60 mph wind gusts and hail the size of quarters. Law enforcement reported the storm.

Damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees is possible. Affected areas include Conway, Fryeburg, Ossipee, Moultonborough, Effingham, Tamworth, Sandwich, Bartlett, Madison, Brownfield, Freedom, Albany, Eaton, Chatham, Livermore, Waterville Valley, Porter, Tuftonboro, Parsonsfield, and Hart's Location. The warning also covers Mount Chocorua, Mount Whiteface, the Tripyramids, Mount Passaconaway, and Sabbaday Falls.

A tornado watch remained in effect for the warned area. Residents were advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
