At approximately 3:30 PM, Vermont State Police initiated a pursuit of a vehicle on Route 105 in Newport Center. The vehicle was described as having a blue sign and a paper plate, and was observed traveling at high speeds, passing Little Johns. Additional units responded to assist. The pursuit continued south toward Coventry.
At approximately 3:37 PM, the vehicle was reported traveling at 80 miles per hour in Troy, where the posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour. Witnesses reported the driver passing other vehicles unsafely. Troopers considered deploying spike strips to stop the vehicle. The incident remains active.
