Possible Overdose at Boardwalk in Newport

At approximately 8:12 AM, Newport Ambulance and Police were dispatched to the boardwalk area near a state building for a report of a male lying on the ground possibly having a seizure and another individual who had taken drugs and was vomiting. Initial reports suggested the incident may be drug-related.

At 8:16 AM, units arrived on scene. Shortly thereafter, responders reported no patient contact and that police were on scene. The scope of the incident remains unclear.
