At approximately 7:29 PM, Newport Police and Orleans Ambulance were dispatched to 65 Maple Street in Newport City for a reported overdose. According to initial reports, a 22-year-old male told his mother on the phone that he had taken a bunch of pills from his medicine cabinet. Responders were directed to the first floor of the residence. Further details on the individual's condition and the type of medication involved are not yet available.
