At approximately 7:29 PM, Newport Ambulance and police were dispatched to 65 Maple Street in Newport for a 22-year-old male who reportedly ingested a quantity of pills from his medicine cabinet. According to initial reports, the male contacted his mother by phone and stated that he had taken the pills. First responders arrived on the scene shortly after. Further details on the patient's condition are pending. The incident is under investigation.
