Newport Ambulance responded early Saturday to a medical call at 1025 Lakeshore Drive in Brighton. At about 1:12 a.m., crews were dispatched to the residence where a male in his mid-30s was reported to be having urinary problems. Initial reports indicate that the individual had recently taken a new prescription for water retention medication at the normal dose, then taken a nap, and woke up experiencing urinary difficulties. Units initially arrived on scene by 1:14 a.m. At approximately 1:31 a.m., additional crews arrived on scene, and Newport County Police also reported on scene. Shortly thereafter, at about 1:32 a.m., all units cleared from the scene and were back in service. Further details on the patient’s condition or whether transport occurred were not immediately available.
