At 1:03 a.m. Saturday, Newport Ambulance was dispatched to the Vermont State Police barracks at 35 Crawford Road in Derby for a drug recognition expert (DRE) blood draw. The request, received via dispatch, indicated that the blood draw was to be conducted at the barracks. Units were en route as of the initial call. Further details on the circumstances leading to the blood draw were not immediately available.
