A 19-year-old Newark man has been arrested in connection with an attempted home invasion that took place in January in Morris Plains, New Jersey, according to police.
Jahad S. Clark was taken into custody Tuesday and faces charges including attempted residential burglary, attempted motor vehicle burglary, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, employing a juvenile in a crime, and conspiracy.
Police responded to a residence around 3:21 a.m. on Jan. 3 after a homeowner reported an attempted forced entry. The suspects fled in a vehicle before officers arrived.
The Morris Plains Police Detective Bureau, with help from the Morris and Essex County Prosecutor's Offices, identified Clark and a juvenile suspect. The juvenile has also been charged.
Clark is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings under the Criminal Justice Reform Act.
