NEWPORT, A virtual awards ceremony later this month will recognize dozens of local individuals and organizations for their work in substance use prevention as the Regional Prevention Partnership (RPP) grant comes to a close.
The Newport district, which benefited from the RPP grant over the past four years, has built a foundation of local prevention efforts. A small team of prevention experts identified community members who demonstrated engagement in the partnership's goals. The celebration will take place June 24 from 3 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom, with special guests expected.
To attend, RSVP to Sunny Naughton at the email provided on the Newport Dispatch article for a Zoom link. Organizers said the nominees have worked collaboratively and creatively to reach youth and families with education on substance use prevention. The list includes 42 nominees ranging from individuals like Suzanne Legare Belcher and Lance Metayer to groups such as the Alcohol Drug Abuse Program / Office of Local Health and the Orleans Central PTA.
