ST. JOHNSBURY, The Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging has appointed Emily Sanderson as its AmeriCorps Senior Volunteer Coordinator, a role responsible for recruiting and managing a volunteer network of more than 320 people across Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties.

Sanderson, a Lyndon Institute graduate and East Burke resident, previously worked as a preschool teacher at Little Dippers Doodle Children Center and as an Intensive Intervention Assistant for the Kingdom East Unified School District. She holds certifications in Child Development, Reiki, Trauma Informed Practice, and Adoption and Family Engagement.

She will be based in the council’s St. Johnsbury office and work closely with the AmeriCorps Senior Program Director for Vermont, Rep. Dan Noyes, at the Central Vermont Council on Aging.
