The NEK Council on Aging (NEKCOA) recently delivered 58 holiday cheer bags filled with gifts to its clients, police said.
The bags were assembled thanks to several community organizations, coordinated by Paul Davis Restoration of Hardwick. The company has led the effort for the past eight years, with staff acquiring, wrapping, and bundling the presents.
NEKCOA staff and volunteers helped distribute the bags. Ken and Janney Johnston assisted with deliveries through their home-delivered meals network.
“This community-led event is a wonderful example of neighbors caring for neighbors,” said Meg Burmeister, executive director of NEKCOA. “We are so very thankful to help in the distribution of such generosity to homes in our communities.”
