Motorist strikes bear on highway near Exit 27

At approximately 11:39 p.m., authorities were notified of a vehicle collision with a bear on a highway near Exit 27. According to initial reports, the female driver was identified as Ashley Robitaille. She struck the bear approximately one mile before the exit. The driver was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved. Authorities later reported that the bear has been located at mile marker 69 and a gentleman is en route to pick it up. He is expected to need transportation from the scene. Further details are pending.
