A motorcyclist was seriously injured July 5 after a pickup truck pulled into his path on US Route 2 in Cabot, Vermont State Police said.

The crash happened around 4:22 p.m. when Glenn Towne, 76, of Duxbury, turned left onto Route 2 from the Marshfield Reservoir. Colby Tetreault, 32, of Glover, was eastbound on a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX when Towne's 2018 Toyota Tundra entered the roadway in front of him.

Tetreault crashed into the driver's side of the pickup. He was taken to Central Vermont Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Towne and his passenger, Resma Towne, 63, of Duxbury, were not hurt. Both wore seat belts.

The motorcycle was totaled; the pickup sustained significant front-end damage. Route 2 was reduced to one lane for about an hour while troopers investigated. Weather was clear and the road was dry.
