Motor Vehicle Crash on East Main Street Ends with Patient Refusal

At approximately 7:52 PM on May 28, 2026, Newport Ambulance, along with Newport City Fire and Newport Police, was dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle crash near the Tavern on the Hill at 1724 East Main Street in Newport. According to dispatch, airbags were deployed and multiple 911 calls were received. Units responded code 3. At around 8:13 PM, Newport 9 cleared the scene after occupants refused medical transport. No injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
