This is a follow-up to NEK's earlier report (NY Senators secure disaster funding for North Country, June 17). New details below.

This is a developing story. Details are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.

NEK previously reported that a male possibly intoxicated and or on a substance was lying on the rocks near the river in Littleton. New details have since emerged: At approximately 11:43 PM, the subject contacted emergency services stating he is willing to go to the hospital and requested to be picked up in front of the Opera House via ambulance. Despite earlier wariness about police presence, he consented as long as police were not transporting him. A rapid response team and an ambulance were en route to the location. The situation appeared to be resolving peacefully.

At 12:06 AM, a status update was requested; dispatch reported no update was available. At 12:07 AM, the rapid response team indicated the individual was still walking toward the Opera House. By approximately 12:16 AM, responders located the patient outside the Littleton Opera House. Initial reports indicate the patient is a 34-year-old male and is being evaluated for mental health concerns. The incident remains under observation.
