The floodplain administrator for Hardwick has been named the 2026 recipient of the Larry R. Johnston Local Floodplain Manager of the Year Award, a national honor recognizing work in floodplain management and risk reduction. The administrator's name was not disclosed in the announcement.
Hardwick experienced severe flooding in July 2023, which caused significant damage to The Inn By The River, a landmark along the Lamoille River. The award highlights efforts to mitigate future flood risks in the community.
