The Glover selectboard has finalized details for this year's Glover Day festival, town administrator Theresa Perron said at a June 13 meeting.
Pre-registration is open for the bike race and the Runaway Pond run/walk. Perron is seeking sponsors and volunteers. The event will feature a two-day art show at town hall, organized by Liz Nelson and Betsy Day.
Selectman Adam Heuslein has arranged for fire department and ambulance volunteers to manage traffic on the race route from Runaway Pond to the Glover Green. An ambulance will follow the runners. Heuslein plans to confirm with the state that law enforcement officers are not required for traffic control duties.
The selectboard voted to set aside 20 percent of the festival's profit as seed money for the 2027 event. The remaining profit will go to the Shadow Lake Dam restoration project, which the board said is a high priority. Last year the event raised at least $7,000, according to town clerk and treasurer Cynthia Epinette.
"Anything we can take off the taxpayers in the future is a good thing," selectwoman Tabitha Armstrong said.
