At 7:52 PM, Newport Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Tavern on the Hill for a report of a fuel spill of unknown amount. Initial reports indicated that a vehicle was located on the side of the road, but no description of the vehicle was provided. Fire crews responded to assess the spill and contain any environmental hazard.
At 7:59 PM, responders reported that the vehicle was off the road and only a small amount of fluid had leaked. The scene was then declared Code 4, indicating it was clear, and all units were released.
