Former Peoples Academy baseball standout Ben Alekson has added another postseason accolade to his collection. The 6-foot-2 right-hander was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-ECAC Team earlier this month after an outstanding junior season at Fairfield University.

Alekson tied for the team lead with seven wins for the Stags and led the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with a 2.47 earned run average. He threw his first career complete game in the opening round of the MAAC Tournament and finished with an ERA ranked 16th nationally. In just three seasons, the former Vermont Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year has tied Fairfield's program record for wins (22) and ranks fourth all-time in career ERA (3.15).

Alekson was joined on the All-ECAC Team by teammate Matthew Bucciero, a senior outfielder who led the MAAC in home runs (20), RBI (57), and slugging percentage (.688). Bucciero broke the conference's all-time RBI record with 225 and leaves as Fairfield's career leader in most offensive categories.

The duo led the Stags to their seventh straight 30-win season and were named MAAC Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively.
