A firearm was discovered in the middle of Evansville Road in Brownington on June 1, 2026, at around 5 p.m., according to Vermont State Police. Trooper Miller of the Derby barracks is investigating and is asking anyone who may know the owner of the weapon to call 802-334-8881.
State police did not specify the type of firearm or how it came to be in the roadway. Investigators are treating the matter as a lost or abandoned property case unless further evidence emerges.
