Vermont State Police and fire crews responded to a fire in Barton early Saturday morning. At approximately 6:23 AM, emergency personnel were on scene, and an EMS transport was en route to North Country Hospital, according to first responders. The cause of the fire and the extent of injuries are unknown at this time. Later, at approximately 7:03 AM, police advised the Vermont Agency of Transportation that a mile marker sign was damaged on the side of the road during the incident.
