At 9:22 PM on July 8, 2026, Newport Ambulance was requested by Vermont State Police to respond to 35 Crawford Road for a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) blood draw as part of a DUI investigation. Units acknowledged the call and were en route. At approximately 9:40 PM, units completed the blood draw and cleared the scene without transport. The DUI investigation is ongoing.
