Officers with the Vermont State Police were dispatched to 56 Kimberly Lane in West Burke shortly after 6:00 AM Saturday following a text-to-911 report of a domestic assault involving weapons. The initial report indicated an assault and domestic dispute. However, the same texter later contacted police to say the report was a mistake, stating that a child had activated the phone and that no one at the residence required assistance. Police units responded to the scene to confirm the situation. At approximately 6:48 AM, responding officers clarified that the incident was not a crash injury and canceled any fire response. The call was categorized as a non-emergency civil dispute. No further details have been released at this time.
