At approximately 1:48 PM, Newport Police and Newport Ambulance were dispatched to 33 Vance Hill Road in Newport for a diabetic emergency. According to dispatch, the call was initially reported as a diabetic emergency. At approximately 1:50 PM, responders reported that the patient was actively seizing and an additional medic unit, Newport 10, was requested. By approximately 1:55 PM, units on scene reported that the patient was alert and oriented, and additional responding units were canceled. The patient was assessed by medics. Further details are pending, including whether the patient was transported.
