The Danville Farmers Market will hold an early Independence Day celebration on Wednesday, July 1, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on the Danville Town Green. The event is designed as a family friendly gathering ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

A children's decorating party and parade is the featured activity. Youngsters are invited to bring bikes, wagons, scooters, or other ride on toys and decorate them in red, white, and blue. Decorating runs from 4 to 4:45 p.m., followed by a parade around the market at 5 p.m. A prize will be awarded for the best decorated ride.

Organizers say the event also aims to encourage support for local farmers, bakers, artisans, and food vendors. NEK Catering will serve smash burgers, hot dogs, and corn on the cob. Miracle Mary's will offer paninis and chips. A variety of seasonal treats such as creemees, popsicles, and Italian ice will be available from several vendors.

The vendor lineup includes A Fairy's Dream Farm, Catz-Star Farm and Bakery, Char's Soap Shop, Everlasting Herb Farm, Heaven's Melody, Just Food Hub, Krazy Konez, Mimi's Popsicles, Mountainview Bakehouse, Notch Hill Farm & Bakery, Sour Bros, Tallow Mine, and Zymemancy Bread Co.

The Danville Farmers Market runs every Wednesday throughout the season. More details are available at DanvilleVTFarmersMarket.com.
