At approximately 6:21 PM, St. Johnsbury Police responded to a report of a man allegedly violating a 24-hour curfew near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Cherry Street, by the Octagon Building. According to dispatch reports, the man is subject to court-ordered conditions including a 24-hour curfew with exceptions for verifiable medical or legal appointments, or when in the company of a designated individual. He is also prohibited from purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages. A resident at the scene indicated he could point out the individual to officers. Officers later reported they were heading to 104 High Street to obtain a statement.

At approximately 6:27 PM, officers arrived at 104 High Street and determined the individual was not present, noting it appeared to be a direct violation of his conditions. Dispatch advised that mail was returned to the High Street address. Officers then obtained a description of the individual, described as wearing gray, and began searching.

At approximately 7:08 PM, officers reported a person was taken into custody. By 7:10 PM, units cleared the scene and were out of service. The investigation is ongoing.
