Crews Reach Patient in Hoarding Situation in Sheffield

At 1:40 PM, emergency responders were dispatched to 585 Chesley Hill Road in Sheffield for a 76-year-old male with a leg wound. Fire and Lyndon Rescue responded. By 1:55 PM, first responders reported the residence was inaccessible by ambulance and requested the Sheffield Wheelock Remote Rescue team.

At 2:00 PM, crews made patient contact. The patient was awake and alert. Responders described an extreme hoarding situation inside the residence, requiring all available personnel to extricate the patient and bring him safely to the roadway.

At 2:38 PM, crews had successfully extricated the patient and loaded him into the ambulance for transport.
