Baby Deer Found Soaking Wet on Jefferson Road in Whitefield

At approximately 4:48 PM, emergency dispatchers received a call at 305 Jefferson Road in Whitefield. The caller reported hearing a hissing sound and then noticing a baby deer on the ground that was soaking wet. Whitefield Police were notified, and New Hampshire Fish and Game was contacted. At approximately 5:02 PM, further details emerged: the deer appeared to have been freshly born, and the mother had run off. Police advised that the mother would likely return, and no further action was taken. Further details are pending.
