This is a developing story. Details are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.

At approximately 4:03 AM, emergency dispatchers received a call from a woman who reported that someone was banging loudly on her door in St. Johnsbury. The caller stated she believed the individual to be a former friend who is obsessed with her and that he owns a firearm. She described the man as currently homeless and living at a local park and ride. Dispatchers could hear loud banging in the background during the call. At 4:11 AM, police provided a description of the suspect as a tall, heavy-set man with a history of obsessive behavior but no prior violence. At 4:14 AM, police reported that the suspect was believed to have left the area in a blue Toyota SUV, heading toward the Dartmouth area. The response has been downgraded as the immediate threat appears reduced. Police continue to investigate.

At 4:20 AM, dispatchers received an update that the suspect had returned and was again banging loudly on the door. The caller reported that her nine-year-old daughter was awake and afraid, and they had moved her into the bathroom in the middle of the apartment to keep her away from windows. The suspect's vehicle is now described as a white Toyota Corolla Cross. Police continue to monitor the situation.
