WESTMORE, The Westmore Select Board began its recent meeting with a field trip to Lake Willoughby’s North Beach, where members, the road foreman, and community members measured the road and debated widening it slightly to allow for a future walking path.
After returning to town hall, the board took up other business: increasing zoning fees, accepting a donated hot-water decontamination station to help prevent the spread of invasive species, establishing a new committee, and signing a contract to bring swim lessons back to the lake.
The paving topic returned later in the evening. Select board member Jason Petrarca noted during the site visit that the board needed to decide whether to pave a wider section while the road crew was already doing the work. Member Miriam Simonds was absent.
