Coventry Selectboard OKs broadband expansion, energy upgrades

The Coventry Selectboard has approved a broadband infrastructure project along Airport Road in partnership with NEK Broadband, aiming to expand high-speed internet access in underserved parts of the Northeast Kingdom. The board also authorized an $83,603 contract for a new heating and cooling system at the Coventry Community Center, funding covered through the town's Municipal Energy Resilience Program (MERP). According to financial data provided to the Selectboard, the MERP account has roughly $95,719 remaining for future eligible projects.
