At approximately 8:30 PM, Jefferson Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Owlshead Highway and Hazen Road in Jefferson for a report of a tree on wires that was on fire and blowing sparks due to wind. Crews arrived on scene and confirmed an active fire on the tree and wires, though the fire has not yet burned through the wires. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze, and a rescue unit has been requested. The incident remains active.
