At 11:16 AM, Newbury Fire Department and West Newbury Fire Department were dispatched to 68 Doe Lane in Newbury for a report of a tree on power lines that was smoking. At 11:24 AM, K-1 arrived on scene and established command, reporting a large tree on the lines. At 11:45 AM, command was advised that crews had been on scene for 20 minutes.
At 11:58 AM, Newbury Command advised that units were clearing the scene. Vermont State Police arrived on scene, and road closure signs were posted. An estimated 30-minute wait for Green Mountain Power was reported. No further information was immediately available.
